What inspired me to choose law
While trying to decide a degree for myself the question that came in my mind was not, why llb? Rather it was, why not llb? I find law very fascinating as a subject. The fact that it’s ever changing and there is always room for betterment, is why I think it’ll never be dull as a subject or as a career.
There is no denying the professional and financial gains law can provide as a field but for me. However, choosing law as a subject is more of a personal choice.
For me, law is not just knowing about your rights. Law is about knowing your rights, the rights of others, speaking out for these rights, implementing them but most importantly bringing justice to those who don’t obey them.
Coming from a political family background, we have always been taught to stand by what is right and to fight for justice, not just for your own but for others too, no matter what. We have always known this to be the way of life but for some people, the reality couldn’t be further away.
Having lived in a rural part of our society, I have seen many injustices happening around me, especially to the less fortunate. Being unaware of their basic rights has not only made them prone to such injustices but also made them an easier target of the perpetrators of crime in our society.
Having seen and witnessed this level of injustice happening around me, for which I have numerous examples, I for one, am willing to devote my time, my education and do everything that I’m capable of, to change this narrative.
