LECTURER

Dilawar Khan

Dilawar Khan is a senior lecturer at CLLB where his interest lies in international protection of human rights and international law. As an internationally recognized expert in the field, he is often invited to speak at national and global platforms. He is an award-winning lawyer who has had the privilege of serving at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (UNICTY) at The Hague. His legal expertise has been sought by a number of international organizations, including the ICRC and UNHCR. He is also a lead consultant for various legal and policy projects and the founder of a not-for-profit organization called CODE PAKISTAN.

Barrister Asad Ul Mulk

Barrister Asad Ul Mulk is a senior lecturer of jurisprudence for the law department at CLLB. With an LLB degree from the University of London, he went on to complete his bar at law from BPP Law School in London. He is an esteemed member of the legal community whose counsel has frequently been sought by various government entities in Pakistan, including the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In addition to sitting on the Anomalies Committee for resolution of disputes in the energy sector, he also has his own law practice – Legal Parameter. His expertise in law has also been sought in an educational capacity by Peshawar University where he served as a visiting lecturer.

Barrister Ibrahim Khan Afridi

Barrister Ibrahim Khan Afridi is a lecturer at the law department of CLLB where he teaches Contract Law. He completed his LL.B. from the University of Buckingham where he was awarded the best performance in Company Law and European Union Law. He then went on to complete his Bar Professional Training Course from the University of Law in London and was called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of The Inner Temple. He has since worked at several prestigious law firm in Pakistan, served as the Legal Advisor to the Advocate General Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and provided his expertise to the Governance Unit of the World Bank in Islamabad. He has also been a visiting lecturer at the Khyber Law College where he taught the Law of Evidence.

Barrister Rokhan N. Shafi

Barrister Rokhan N. Shafi is a lecturer in the law department of CLLB where he teaches criminal law. He is an established legal practitioner and an alumni of the University of London. With a Master of Laws (LLM) in Transnational Criminal Justice System from BPP University in London, he has spent the past five years broadening his experience by practicing at the Peshawar High Court. He is currently a partner at Barrister Zahur’s Chambers in Peshawar where he specialises in criminal law, taxation and matters pertaining to fundamental rights.
Barrister Rokhan N. Shafi has been called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honorable Society of Grays Inn.

Barrister Mian Sarwar Muzaffar Shah

Barrister Mian Sarwar Muzaffar Shah is a Law Faculty at CLLB where he teaches Introduction to Criminology. He did his LLB (hons) from Brunel University, London and Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) from BPP Law School, London. He has certifications in Certificate in Human Rights Law and Certificate in International Law from London School of Economics & Political Sciences. Mr. Sarwar has also won a Silver medal as a team at University of London Officer Training Corps and a Bronze medal in Duke of Edinburgh Award for various activities and skills. He is a Founding Partner at RSJ and Associate Partner at Afridi Law Associates.

Sibah Farooq

Sibah Farooq is part of the law department at CLLB. With educational degrees in law from the United Kingdom and Italy, she has spent the last 13 years establishing herself as a legal expert whose counsel is frequently sought by international organizations and local government bodies. In the past, she has worked as a protection lawyer with the United Nations Mission in Pakistan and as the legal advisor to the International Committee of the Red Cross. She is currently a senior partner at S & S Law Associates where she specializes in litigation and regulatory matters.

Barrister Afzal Khan Shinwari

Barrister A. K Shinwari is a senior member of the law department at CLLB where he teaches civil litigation and advocacy. Having graduated from the University of London LLB programme with honours, he went on to complete his LLM from BPP University in London, from where he also completed his Bar Professional Training Course and was subsequently called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honorable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. He is a renowned figure in legal circles who holds place as one of a handful of legal practitioners in Pakistan who have international arbitration experience. In addition to his qualifications in law, Barrister Shinwari has an MBA from LUMS and a BS in Computer Sciences from FAST, Lahore.

Barrister Syed Mohammad Shah

Barrister Syed Mohammad Shah is a lecturer in the law department at CLLB who teaches Tort law. He did his LLB (Hons.) from University of London through their International Programme. He then went on to complete his Bar Professional Training Course from City University London and was subsequently Called to the Bar of England and Wales by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. At the very start of his professional practice, Mohammad Shah interned at the Peshawar High Court as a research associate and he thereafter served as a Law Clerk/Research Associate in the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He has also remained an Associate at Syed Arshad Ali & Associates at Peshawar. Presently, he is a partner at Raza & Shah Chambers, Peshawar and he regularly appears before the High Courts, District Courts & various special Courts. Mohammad Shah’s areas of practice include constitutional law, services law and labour law, among others. Being active in his legal practice for almost a decade now, he is considered to be highly accomplished in the legal profession.

Barrister Shahbaz Khan

Muhammad Shahbaz Khan is part of the faculty for the foundation year classes at CLLB. He graduated from the University of Manchester with an LLB degree and completed BPTC at BPP University Law School, London. He is an experienced lawyer who has worked in multiple organizations since graduating. He has worked in the USA with A. Rehman Holdings LLC, Texas. In UK, he has worked with JJ Law Chambers in Middlesex. In Pakistan, he has worked with Legal Oracles in Islamabad and with Muzammil Law Associates in Peshawar.

Barrister Bahadur Bokhari

He received his degree in law from the University of Wolverhampton before being trained as a Barrister at Lincoln’s Inn in London. He has since worked in a number of high-profile cases across all areas of criminal law in both the U.K. and in Pakistan. His expertise in the area of anti-money laundering has earned him national and international recognition and provided him with opportunities to work with various international governments on legal matters. In addition to practicing the law, Mr. Bokhari has also dedicated his time and knowledge to teaching. In this capacity, he has delivered countless lectures and trainings on several areas of the law, including ADR. Barrister Bokhari has joined CLLB as a visiting faculty for LLM.

Ahmed Shah Afridi

Ahmed Shah Afridi teaches Equity and Trust as part of the law department at CLLB. He is a graduate of University of London’s International programme. He is an active legal practitioner specializing in different areas of law and has served as a legal advisor and is on the panel of multiple corporations. He is part of the well reputed law firm of KP, Ameer, Afridi and Associates.

Syed Ahmad Omer Akif

Syed Ahmad Omer Akif is a well-respected expert on legal matters and a professor in the law department of CLLB. With an LLB degree from LUMS, he pursued his interest in legal studies by travelling to Netherlands where he studied public international law at Leiden University and earned his LLM degree. During this time, he also served as part of the legal team for the United Nations International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals at The Hague. He has since authored several research publications in addition to his work as a lawyer, and currently works as a legal research consultant at the ICRC.

Barrister Azam Khan

Barrister Azam Khan is a part of CLLB’s law department where he teaches European Union Law. He has done his LLM (Law Conversion) from the BPP University, London. Moreover, he completed his Bar vocational studies from The City Law School, London. He is a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, and the Legal Research Institute of Pakistan. He was part of the Youth led Policy Forum Pakistan, hosted by the United Nations Development Programme. He worked as a paralegal in AWS Solicitors. He has established himself as a reputable advocate and has been a part of Daudzai Law Chamber among many othere.

Barrister Syed Haider Ali Shah

Along with his current teaching role at CLLB, Haider practices in general civil law in Peshawar and assists in cases before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of Pakistan. He was a Judicial Law Clerk to Mr. Justice Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel at the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 2018/2019.

Haider completed his BPTC studies from the City, University of London in 2020 and is a member of the Hon’ble Society of the Inner Temple. During his Bar studies in the United Kingdom, he represented clients before the First-Tier Tribunal (Social Security and Child Support) in their appeals against the Department of Welfare and Pensions. Haider holds an LLM degree in Public International Law from the University of Nottingham. He has worked at the Coalition for the International Criminal Court, and has also worked on various independent and joint research projects in criminal law, international human rights law and the law of international watercourses. Previously, he represented the University of Nottingham at the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, coached the team of the Hon’ble Society of the Inner Temple at the UK rounds of the competition, and also attended the Pakistan rounds of the competition as a judge.

Haider teaches criminal litigation & evidence and civil advocacy at the CLLB.

Lawangeen Khan

Lawangeen Khan is part of the law faculty of CLLB where he teaches Property Law. He is a graduate of the University of London Law School where he achieved a World Class Distinction in Dissertation. He is an active and experienced legal practitioner who has rendered services to multiple reputed organizations for more than four years in various areas such as Corporate & Commercial Laws, Taxation, Banking, Telecommunication, Environmental Laws, Labour Laws and Digital Commerce. He currently practices independently through his office at Peshawar.

Barrister Syed Zaland

Syed Zaland is a part of our Faculty of Law at CLLB. He graduated from the University of London, and joined UWE Bristol for his LLM in Advanced Criminal and Family Law. He is also completing his Bar Training Course from UWE Bristol and awaiting Call to the Bar from the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn, all at the astoundingly early age of 23.
He has worked as an associate at reputable law firms such as Hidayatullah Khan Chamkani Law Chamber. He is currently an active legal practitioner in the courts of Peshawar and working at Muzammil Law Associates and legal practitioners. With a gifted talent and undying passion for Law, he has already made a promising start to his legal career.

Ali Gohar Durrani

Ali Gohar Durrani is an academic, lawyer and practitioner of Law currently based in the greater Peshawar and Islamabad area. Throughout his career, he served a diverse set of roles including being appointed as a visiting professor of Law at different institutions within KPK. He has also gained valuable experience working on behalf of multinational companies based in Pakistan.
He has a distinctive disposition towards engagement in public discourse and has to this end been fortunate to participate in many debates, both in the parliamentary format and otherwise. During his student life he has brought many laurels to the institutions he has attended, and also excelled in co-curricular activities. When he is not practicing his skills in the legal realm before the Honorable High Courts, he writes and reads in his free time. Moreover, he operates as a public speaker and has been engaged time and again to offer his expertise in teaching professional skills in advanced short courses to many professionals in the field of Law.

Barrister Hamza Ahmad Khan

Completed undergraduate LLB Degree from the University of Sheffield.
Bar Professional Training Course from Lincolns Inn, including results of 92 in Additional Dispute Resolution, and 81 in Civil Litigation.
After passing the Law GAT & SEE Law, has continued to work with the prestigious Sardar Muhammad Aslam Law Chambers in Islamabad, founded by Islamabads first High Court Chief Justice.

Jawad Khan

Jawad Khan is a business faculty member in CLLB’s Business Department. He has done his MBA/Master of Professional Accounting from the University of Canberra – Australia, and BBA(Hons) from Institute of Management Sciences-Peshawar. His area of expertise is Management Accounting and Financial Management. Jawad is an Associate Member of Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA) Australia. Prior to joining CLLB, he has worked with Optus and Allphones in Australia.

Abdul Basit

Abdul Basit is a business faculty member in CLLB’s Business Department. He has completed his MS – Finance from City University of Science & IT Peshawar and BS Commerce – Accounting & Finance from Quaid-e-Azam College of Commerce, University of Peshawar. Basit is a Certified Cambridge teacher for 4024 Mathematics GCE, 0580 Mathematics IGCSE and for O/A Levels Accounting. He has hands-on experience of Lectureship at Govt & Private Colleges to Graduate and Post Graduate Students.

Barrister Huzaifa Ahmad

Barrister Huzaifa Ahmad is a visiting faculty for Tort Law at CLLB, and a practising lawyer in Peshawar. He received his Bachelors of Law from University of London wherein he had graduated with a 2.1 degree. He was awarded an academic achievement award and was amongst the high achievers of his batch.
After his bachelors, he moved to the UK to pursue his postgraduate degree that is Bar-At-Law from the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. He had scored distinctions in Criminal and Evidence Litigation, Cross-Examination and Conference. He was called to the bar of England and Wales at the age of 23 by the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn on 16th of March, 2023 in its Hilary Term.
He was associate to Justice Muhammad Ijaz Khan wherein he has worked and assisted his excellency in several services law cases, criminal cases and civil cases. Moreover, he had done his internship at the Additional Attorney General’s Office, Peshawar. He is currently practising in Peshawar dealing with Criminal law cases, Services cases and Civil cases.

Mashhood is an Advocate High Court. He is a partner at Dr. Shakeel Azam Awan | Advocates, a law practice group located in Islamabad and Peshawar. As a lawyer, he manages an active portfolio encompassing both contentious and non-contentious legal matters, demonstrating extensive expertise across various legal domains. With a strong background in law, economics, and finance, Mashhood excels in providing strategic legal counsel to businesses, particularly in the realm of commercial transactions. Specializing in emerging companies and lifecycle advisory, he aids startups and growing businesses in navigating legal complexities. His proficiency also extends to construction law, specifically FIDIC contracts, where he offers valuable guidance on construction projects. Additionally, Mashhood has a passion for writing and contributes op-eds to leading newspapers in Pakistan, including the News International and the Friday Times.

Maroof Mehmood

Maroof Mehmood is an English for Academic Purposes (EAP) instructor for IFY at CLLB. She received her Bachelors in English from the National University of Modern Languages (NUML) Lahore. She completed her MS in English from City University Peshawar. She is a certified TESOL trainer iTTi USA, a British Council IELTS trainer and has completed a Professional Development Course by Cambridge Assessment International Education.

She has been a lecturer of English at CECOS University, Cambridge English Trainer at Roots Millennium Schools Khyber Campus and Lead Trainer with KP Govt for Business Training

She established a language institute, English Training Hub (Ehub) in 2019 and Maroof Wellbeing Foundation 2021.

Darmaan Nafees Shafi

Darmaan Nafees Shafi is an instructor of the modules on Public Law, dissertation and legal systems and methods at CLLB. He is a former student of the University of London, having done his LLM from City University London and who has gone on to become a distinguished advocate of the High Court and the founder of an independent practice where he specializes in tax law, service matters, contract law, torts, fundamental rights, and constitutional law. He is also a member of several standing legal counsel panels that include the Khyber Institute of Child Health, the University of Technology, Nowshera, The Daybreak Education in Nowshera and Gajju Khan Medical College in Swabi.
